Kathy L. Anderson, 46, of Palmerton, sustained what state police at the Lehighton barracks called "suspected minor injuries" in a two-vehicle crash at 2:48

p.m.Wednesday at the intersection of Fireline and Forest Inn roads in Lower Towamensing Township.Police said she was driving a 2015 Kia Rio eastbound on Fireline Road and was stopped due to a backlog of traffic from the stop sign at the intersection when a 2001 Ford Explorer, driven by a 17-year-old boy from Palmerton, also traveling east, failed to stop in time and struck the rear end of the Rio.Both vehicles received minor damages.Police did not name the 17-year-old driver, who was uninjured but was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
