New Tripoli woman's vehicle is sideswiped

A 2006 Chevrolet Colorado operated by Marianne A. Benner, 71, of New Tripoli, was damaged when it was struck by a Kia SUV that sideswiped it, after which time the driver fled the scene according to state police in Upper Macungie Township.

The incident happened at 4:02

p.m.Wednesday on Route 100 northbound in the township.Benner told police the Kia was traveling in the lane to the left of her vehicle when the operator quickly cut over and sideswiped her vehicle, then turned onto Tilghman Street before fleeing.She was uninjured. Her vehicle had scratches, scuffs and dents to its left side.
