MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Lisa continues to move slowly northwestward in the Atlantic, but poses no threat to land and is expected to weaken soon.
The storm's maximum sustained winds late Wednesday night were holding steady at near 45 mph (75 kph). The U.S. National Hurricane Center says the storm is expected to weaken slowly by Thursday night.Lisa is centered about 620 miles (995 kilometers) northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands and is moving northwest near 7 mph (11 kph).Tropical Depression Karl's maximum sustained winds were also holding steady at near 35 mph (55 kph). Karl is centered about 725 miles (1,165 kilometers) southeast of Bermuda and is moving northwest at 15 mph (24 kph).
