A Schuylkill County man was jailed after violating a protection from abuse order.

State police at Frackville said Matthew John Nickerson, 31, of Shenandoah, violated the order when he made contact with a 24-year-old woman at the Motel 6 along Altamont Boulevard in West Mahanoy Township on Aug. 30 around 3:50 p.m. The PFA order prohibited him from having any contact with the woman.Several attempts were made to locate Nickerson. On Sept. 16 he was located by troopers from the Schuylkill Haven barracks and taken into custody. He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison after failing to post bail, troopers said.
