St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, is currently making plans for the 100th anniversary of the church and the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. A committee is creating a new church directory.It would like all church members to participate in this project which includes photos of families which will be printed in the directory at no cost. Information is being mailed to the members about the photo sessions, etc.Please contact the people listed on the mailings.Community dinnerThe free community dinner at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 25. The meal this month will be pork and sauerkraut. If you have questions, call the church at 570-325-2241.ScamperThe 46th annual Switchback Scamper will begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 16.
