Jury finds Easton man not guilty of threats after short deliberation

A Carbon County jury panel took just about 29 minutes to find an Easton man not guilty of a charge of terroristic threats following a two-day trial last week.

Shane J. Strom, 40, was charged by state police at Lehighton with making threats to Paul Roth, Bowmanstown, during a phone call on May 9.The arrest report indicated that Roth had been buying items from Strom but decided to stop. He told troopers that Strom had threatened him during a phone call when Roth told the defendant he was not going to buy anything else from him.The trial included many character witnesses for Strom and was presided over by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.The commonwealth was represented by Assistant District Attorney Brian Gazo and Strom by attorney Brian J. Collins.
