A free car seat checkup will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdayat Walmart, 1204 Blakeslee Blvd., Lehighton. The event, sponsored by Kid Zone Blue Mountain Health System and the Pennsylvania State Police, will be held rain or shine.

During the check, a safety specialist will make sure the seat is installed correctly, there are no recalls on the seat and the child fits properly.They will also provide information on when to turn a baby's car seat around to face forward.The Carbon County Children's Team will also be there to offer resources and early intervention screenings that are available to families.Parents are asked to bring the child who uses the car seat.
