At 6:30 p.m. Monday,the library will be showing "Engineering Ground Zero." Shot over three years with unique behind-the-scenes access from The Port Authority of New York, this film follows the reconstruction of the Freedom Tower, the September 11th Memorial, and the Santiago Calatrava designed transportation hub at Ground Zero.At 1 p.m. Thursday, the library will show "9/11," a film containing the only clear footage of the first plane crashing into the World Trade Center. Filmed by Jules Naudet, he and his brother Gedeon were in New York City to film a documentary on members of the Engine 7, Ladder 1 firehouse in Lower Manhattan.Banned Books WeekBanned Books Week is Sept. 27-Oct. 3. This year WPCL's choice for Banned Book Week is "Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo, an anti-war novel written in 1938. The novel won one of the early National Book Awards: the Most Original Book of 1939. Copies of this controversial book are available at the library. The banned book discussion is at 6:30

p.m.Sept. 28.Craft showThe 32nd Annual Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 3

p.m.Nov. 20. Craft tables will be available on the lower level. The show is for handmade arts and crafts as well as vendors who sell Avon, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, etc. We are hoping to have more crafters and vendors this year and will work diligently to minimize the number of crafters and vendors in any one category thus making your display even more unique.
