The Palmerton Area Library will offer fall computer classes for adults in October.
Intro to Computers, will be held from 5-7 p.m. for four Thursdays beginning Oct. 6. This class is for the beginners.The class will cover setting up the mouse, keyboard and monitor in Windows operating system and installing programs. Students will also learn general Internet concepts and use of the mouse controls, scroll bars and the address bar to teach how to go directly to the page without getting lost on the web, and learn how to send, receive, save and print email and attachments.Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), will be offered on Tuesdays from Nov. 1-Nov. 29.A basic understanding of computers is needed in order to take this class. Students will learn how to use menus and toolbars to accomplish basic tasks including: selecting/highlighting, scrolling, saving and printing. Also covered will be how to create, edit, revise and format a document and learn how to use spreadsheets, labels, tables and charts. Students will create a simple presentation using shape, color and graphic images, and will learn how to add music, video and photos.For both classes, students may bring their own laptop or use a library laptop.
