Northern Lehigh School District youth are just as capable at carving out a successful niche in their lives as anyone.

Damien Bower, a 2012 graduate of Northern Lehigh High School, offers further proof of that.Bower, who serves as executive support specialist for the office of Gov. Tom Wolf, briefly addressed the school board on Monday.The son of Director Debra Bower, Damien told the board he stopped by to “pay my respects.”Damien said he works in Wolf’s brand-new office called the Office of Constituent Services.After the meeting, he said his biggest wish is for people to realize that the Northern Lehigh community is more than it’s perceived to be.“There’s always this perception about Northern Lehigh,” Damien said. “There are a lot of people out there that want to do good and see people succeed.”Damien graduated cum laude from Temple’s College of Liberal Arts in May 2016 with a degree in political science, a minor in Spanish, and a certificate in Latin American studies.He participated in the Pennsylvania Capital Semester program in spring 2015, and was placed in the Democratic House Education Committee under Chairman Rep. James Roebuck.The office was established in February 2016 with the intent of streamlining constituent services, expanding the transparency of the executive branch, and further connecting the governor with the people he serves.
