Matthew A. Hoffman, 40, of Effort, sustained a minor injury in a crash involving a motorcycle and a Ford Explorer at 4:53 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Long Mountain Road and Arnold Drive in Polk Township.

State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred when Slawomir Z. Kotara, 55, of Effort, driving the Explorer, was facing west on Arnold Drive and after stopping at a stop sign, attempted to make a turn onto Long Mountain Road. Police said he didn't see the oncoming 2012 Ducati Panigale operated by Hoffman and began to emerge into the intersection where the Explorer struck the right side of the motorcycle.Police said Hoffman was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by the West End EMS.The cycle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.Police said Kotara was cited in the crash.
