Area police have made the following arrests for retail thefts:
• Tammy Heiserman, 40, of Lehighton has been charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft that took place at the Lehighton Walmart on June 27, and a summary offense for driving under suspension. Heiserman's preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 21.• Susan Castiglioni, 52, of Weissport has been charged with a felony count of retail theft from an attempted theft at the Lehighton Walmart on Aug. 1.• Brittney Marie Akers, 22, of Kunkletown, will be charged by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident at 5:30 p.m. Sundayat Weis Markets, Route 209 and Weir Lake Road, Chestnuthill Township. Akers selected and failed to pay for miscellaneous health and beauty products and a cheesecake. Charges will be filed at the office of District Magistrate Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.• State police at the Lehighton arrested Robert David Rieselman, no address listed, for retail theft, following an incident on Aug. 29 at the Dollar General Store in Ross Township. Police said he is accused of taking a bag of charcoal from the store without paying the full retail value of it.
