Concourse Club accepts entries for annual art and photo show
The Concourse Club of Palmerton is accepting entries for its annual Art & Photography Show, which will be held during the Palmerton Festival from Friday through Sunday in the Palmerton Borough Park.
The Art & Photography Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, at St. John Neumann Regional School at Third and Lafayette avenues in Palmerton.There are category divisions for youth and adults, which include all media paintings, and black/white and color photographs. Winners will be chosen and will receive a variety of prizes.Registration is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Friday. There is a preregistration fee of $5 per entry. The fee on Friday evening is $6. Three entries per category per person are allowed.The judges for the show are Molly Phillips, Addison George and Lyndsey Heinrich.Because last year's 100th Anniversary Celebration category was well-received, a special "Palmerton" category is included this year. Entries for this special category should have something to do with the town. Entries can be either a painting, photography or mixed media. One entry per person. All ages are welcome.There is no entry or registration fee for this category. However, these works cannot have been previously entered in a Concourse Club Art show or in any other category in this year's show.Entries will be judged by the members of the Concourse Club Art Show Committee; and one award - $25 Chamber Bucks - will be presented.Raffle prizes will be awarded on Sunday and include: two quilted wall hangings, donated by Mary Brigham; a hand-painted tin by Linda Koehler; a grouping of wildlife décor donated by The Owl's Nest, located in the Palmerton campus of the Blue Mountain Health System; and a painting by Duane Costenbader.An Artist Bargain Corner will feature works for sale by local artists.The Concourse Club is dedicated to public service.
