No one was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 6 p.m. Aug. 24 at the intersection of Route 209 and Harrity Road in Polk Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said the crash happened when vehicles operated by Daniel S. Connor, 56, of Chester, Connecticut, and Jennifer A. Matsinko, 33, of Lehighton, were both northbound on Route 209.Police said Matsinko, driving a 2013 Volkswagen Beetle, came to an abrupt stop, at which time Connor, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and pulling a trailer, attempted to stop but slid into the Beetle, causing the collision.The Silverado and trailer slid off the right side of the road and landed in a ditch on the right side of Route 209.It needed to be towed from the scene. Matsinko's vehicle came to rest in the northbound lane of travel.
