Details of a one-vehicle crash that took the life of a Lehighton resident were released by state police at Lehighton.

The crash occurred at 8:42 a.m. Saturday along Riverview Road in East Penn Township.Troopers said John E. Hall, 87, was driving a 2005 Buick Lacrosse eastbound, just west of the intersection with Sunset Road, when he failed to negotiate a right curve. This caused the Buick to travel into the westbound lane and then onto the north berm. The Buick became airborne and began to roll clockwise. The passenger side of the car hit a tree. After impact, the car rolled clockwise and came to rest on its driver's side facing west off the north berm.Hall, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by county coroner Robert Miller.
