Carbon officials OK personnel moves

Carbon County officials approved a number of appointments and resignations to the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Board.

Joseph Sebelin, representing the Pocono WIA, and Virginia Tatusko, representing Blue Mountain Health System, were reappointed to one-year terms until June 30, 2017, and Grace Riggio of Lehighton, Anthony DiMiceli of Nesquehoning and Ronald J. Blisard of Nesquehoning were reappointed as consumer representatives.The Rev. Doris Bray of Palmerton stepped down as the advisory board's three-year community representative, effective July 5; while Roxanne Downs of Jim Thorpe and Brian Harrison of Hazleton resigned as the two-year community representatives. Downs' effective date was July 13; while Harrison's was Aug. 22.Amy L. Lentini of the Social Security Administration in Hazleton and Pastor Sharon Frye of Salem and St. Matthew's UCCs in Weatherly were appointed to fill two-year community representative terms, expiring June 30, 2017.Sharon Cimino of Mauch Chunk Trust Company, Jim Thorpe, and Mary Gilhool of Jim Thorpe were appointed to fill the unexpired consumer representative three-year terms, expiring June 30, 2018.Other actionsThe commissioners also approved the following actions:• Work-based learning program agreement with Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 for the 2016-2017 school year allowing young adults with disabilities on-the-job training in the archives department.• Employment separations: Noah G. Goldberg of Jim Thorpe, summer laborer for buildings and grounds, effective Aug. 12; Adam J. Nevenglosky of Nesquehoning, summer laborer for buildings and grounds, effective Aug. 19; and Chelsea M. Smelas of Jim Thorpe, part-time district justice secretary I, effective Aug. 31.• Court appointment: Susan A. Joyce of Jim Thorpe, district justice secretary I, effective Sept. 12.• Change of status: Joseph J. Dunner of Hazleton, from part-time security officer to special deputy sheriff trainee, sheriff's office, effective Sept. 12.• Leave of absence: Teah M. Reichard of Palmerton, domestic relations officer I, from Aug. 23 to Sept. 19.
