State police at Frackville are investigating an incident in which skeletal remains were discovered at a Schuylkill County site.

On Monday, troopers were called to an access road into private property off Route 54 in Mahanoy Township. The property is owned by Schuylkill Energy Resources Inc. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the county coroner's office and the forensic services unit of the state police based at the Reading barracks.The site is in an area where a large conveyor belt crosses Route 54 just southeast of Shenandoah.
