A Tamaqua woman faces charges for possessing drugs at the time she was picked up on an outstanding arrest warrant.
A state constable executed a warrant for the arrest of Nancy Cole, 54, of 71 Bowe St., at 2:50 p.m. Aug. 18. When asked if she had any illegal substances on her person, Cole turned over a syringe, a lighter and a metal spoon with heroin residue.When reminded that if she took illegal substances to the Schuylkill County prison, she would be charged with felonies, she pulled a plastic bag from her underwear. The bag contained four baggies containing suspected heroin and 59 methadone pills.She was transported to the prison in Pottsville on the warrant.Tamaqua police filed charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia with District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, on Aug. 25.
