Cyclist struck, killed by SUV on sidewalk identified

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a cyclist struck and killed on a northeastern Pennsylvania sidewalk by a sport utility vehicle that fled the scene.

The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (http://bit.ly/2bMvXuT ) reports that 26-year-old Michael Harmer was riding in Scranton when the SUV crossed the oncoming lane, went onto the sidewalk and struck him shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday.Police said they found the vehicle and interviewed a woman, but determined that she was not the driver. No arrests have been reported.Relatives said the father of two was riding from Pittston to north Scranton to visit his 6-month-old son and that afternoon planned to watch his 7-year-old daughter perform as a cheerleader at a football game.---Information from: The Times-Tribune,
