Weatherly graduate, mother die in pileup

A 1981 graduate of Weatherly Area High School and her mother died in a four-vehicle crash on Thursday evening on Route 194 in York County.

According to an online published report by PennLive, a site of the Penn Media Group, Mary A. Fedorick, 53, of Hazleton, and Arlene F. Folk, 73, of Lyon Station, died in the 6:48 p.m. crash in Washington Township.State police said the car in which the women were riding, which was driven by Alan Fedorick, 56, of Hazleton, was stopped in the southbound lane to make a turn onto Bermudian Church Road when it was rear-ended by a Jeep driven by Marissa D. Chance, 35, of McSherrystown. Chance had taken her eyes off the road, police said.They said the impact spun the Fedorick car into the path of an oncoming pickup driven by Harold Luckenbaugh Jr., 58, of Thomasville. The Fedorick car also hit a stopped 1968 Mercury Cougar driven by Andrew M. Storm, 43, of East Berlin, police said.According to published obituaries, Mary Ann Fedorick, 53, graduated from Weatherly High in 1981 and had worked in the cafeteria of the Hazleton Area School District for more than 20 years, having also been employed by Boyer's Food Markets. Alan is her husband.Arlene, her mother, was the widow of Lawrence K. Fulk.Born in White Haven, she was a daughter of the late James F. and Mary (Shrosky) Getz. In addition to her son-in-law, she is survived by a brother, James Getz, and his wife, Mollie, Pocono Lake, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Marion Gaydes, and five brothers, Adam, Michael, Andrew, Frank and George Getz.
