Final concert

The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce will wrap up its 10th annual free summer concert series on Sept. 1 with an evening of classic rock by Diaspora.The concert will held from 6-8 p.m. on the platform of the historic Tamaqua Train Station.Anyone planning to attend is welcome to bring a lawn chair or make a reservation at the new Tamaqua Station Restaurant.Concerts are weather permitting.Suicide awarenessThe Link, a nonprofit organization promoting suicide awareness and prevention, will hold an awareness walk on Oct. 2 at Mauch Chunk Lake Park.The Link at the Lake Awareness Walk is open to all ages, with no fees for those under the age of 10.Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the walk will start at 10 a.m. All proceeds will benefit suicide prevention/awareness efforts in Schuylkill and Carbon counties.For more information, or to register, donate or volunteer, call or text 570-290-8089 or email
