Man to face trial in arson

A homeless man will go to trial on charges that he set fire to his own vehicle in Lansford Borough last month.

John Robert Curley, 54, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.According to a criminal complaint filed by police, Curley admitted setting his vehicle on fire on July 8. He told police the next day that he did it because he wanted a new start on life.Curley is also accused of starting a fire at an apartment building in Shenandoah Borough, a building he was reportedly evicted from a short time before.
