Pocono Mountain Regional police reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 3:53 a.m. Aug. 15 along Route 196 at Wildflower Drive, in Coolbaugh Township.

Police said a witness reported silver Infinity passed him while going southbound. The driver of the Infinity then lost control with the vehicle, crossing the road and striking a utility pole with the passenger side along the berm. The driver, Juan Maldonado, 31, of Tobyhanna, was injured and taken to the CMC hospital in Plains Township, Luzerne County. Assisting police at the scene were volunteers from the Coolbaugh Township Fire Company and Pocono Regional ambulance.
