STEP-Up Tamaqua, a volunteer group addressing the local opioid drug abuse issue, will meet at 7 p.m., Monday,in Founders Hall at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St., Tamaqua.

Kevin Smith II of the "Seed House" will be the guest speaker.Following his presentation, the four core groups will hold work sessions. Those groups are support, treatment, enforcement and prevention.New members are always welcome and are expected to be active participants in the fight against drugs.STEP-Up is sponsored by the Tamaqua Area Faith and fellowship Network and the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership.
