Easton man invites police officer to do drugs

An Easton man is in trouble after he unknowingly exchanged provocative texts with a police officer and then invited her to do drugs with him.

On Aug. 11, Justin Running, 26, instant messaged a female, unaware that she was a police officer and said, "You are incredibly beautiful."The police officer did not respond to this message.The next day Running messaged the police officer again and said, "wanna smoke Hella blunts?"The police officer then started to return messages to Running.Over the next few days, Running and the officer would text and talk on the phone about meeting in the Poconos to smoke marijuana.Running, during these conversations, said he would supply marijuana if she would perform sexual favors after they were high.On Aug. 17, a meeting between Running and the officer was arranged. They agreed to meet at a local gas station in Saylorsburg.Running said he would bring marijuana.When Running arrived at the gas station he was taken into custody by detectives from the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.He was found to be in possession of marijuana.Running was arrested by Detective Kim Lippincott and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of a small amount of marijuanaand possession of drug paraphernalia.Running wasarraigned by District Magistrate Kristina Anzini and released on $5,000 bail.The preliminary hearing for Running has been scheduled for Aug. 29.
