Victim of I-81 crash is named

A Tobyhanna man died as the result of blunt-force trauma following a triple crash along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County early Thursday morning.

Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David Moylan identified the man as Edward Rosario, 34. He was pronounced dead at the scene just after 5 a.m.Moylan said Friday Rosario died from massive internal injuries due to blunt-force trauma.The crash happened just before the St. Clair/Frackville exit at mile marker 126.I-81 south was shut down following the crash and vehicles were detoured to the Hometown/Mahanoy City exit.The crash involving Rosario was the third in a series of rig crashes and happened approximately a half-mile north of the first two crashes.The first crash occurred when a tractor-trailer with double trailers was traveling southbound just after 4:30 a.m.It lost control and rolled, blocking the passing lane.A second rig with no trailer that was traveling behind the first crash began to slow when it was struck from behind by a motor home pulling an SUV.The two people inside the RV were taken to the hospital for treatment.As vehicles stopped for the two crashes, a third tractor-trailer, driven by Rosario, was unable to stop and hit the rear of another rig, then flipped onto its side.State police in Frackville are investigating the crashes.
