Six first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program by Judge Joseph J. Matika this week.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Matthew Inoa, 18, of Albrightsville, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence. He was arrested on Feb. 15 by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 903 in Kidder Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 90 days.Michael J. O'Donnell, 25, of Summit Hill, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on April 6 by Mahoning Township police following a vehicle stop along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East.He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 25 hours of community service.Robert Gene Sachs, 24, of Tresckow, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Jan. 21 along Plane Street by Weatherly police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 60 days.Chad A. Serfass,33, of Bethlehem, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Feb. 19 along the turnpike in East Penn Township by state police at Pocono. A test revealed a 0.30 BAC.He was assessed $550 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 60 days.Stanley Edward Warren Jr.,28, of Williamsport, was placed for two years on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 15 along Interstate 80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 100 hours of community service, and his license suspended for 60 days.Ryan Austin Wolfe,21, of Coatesville, Chester County, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Feb. 1 along Broad Street by Beaver Meadows police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program and follow all recommendations of their blood and alcohol evaluation.
