Seven defendant entered guilty pleas on Tuesday in Carbon County court to driving under the influence and related charges.

Matika accepted the pleas.Two DUIsJericha Lee Skuntz, 25, of Hazle Township, pleaded to two counts of DUI in two incidents.Skuntz was arrested on Oct. 19, 2015, by state police at Fern Ridge along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. The second arrest occurred on Nov. 11, 2015, along Route 209 in Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton. In both cases, tests revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika deferred sentencing so Skuntz could obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and apply for placement in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest.Other pleasOther defendants entering pleas included:Sean Roy Trujillo,47, of Lehighton, was arrested on April 14 by Mahoning Township police along Route 443. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension, render 25 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole. He will begin the jail term at 8 p.m. Aug. 26.Andrew John Lipson,28, of Albrightsville, was arrested on Feb. 10 at Packer and Second streets by Weatherly police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so Lipson can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.David Anderson Frangioudakis, 28, of Lansford, was arrested on Sept. 14, 2015, by Nesquehoning police along Route 54 when he was stopped for speeding. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and apply for the IPP.Charles Francis Weaver, 31, of Slatington, was arrested on March 1 along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive by Mahoning Township police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so he can get a drug and alcohol evaluation.David Richard Merwarth, 23, of Catasauqua, was arrested on March 12 along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test, showed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.James Edward Hunsicker, 49, of Nesquehoning, was arrested on March 2 by Nesquehoning police along Allen Street operating an all-terrain vehicle. He also pleaded to one count of possession of a firearm without a license. A .357-caliber revolver was found on him.Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.
