State police at Frackville are investigating a triple crash that claimed the life of one person along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County that occurred early this morning. The crash happened just before the St. Clair/Frackville exit at milemarker 126.

I-81 south is currently shutdown and vehicles are being detoured to the Hometown/Mahanoy City exit.Reports from the scene indicate that a tractor-trailer with double trailers was traveling southbound just after 4:30 a.m. during heavy rain when it lost control and rolled.A tractor, with no trailer, was behind the first crash and began to slow when it was struck from behind by a motor home. Reports are that two people inside the RV were taken to the hospital for injuries.As vehicles stopped for this collision a third tractor-trailer was unable to stop and hit the rear of another rig, then flipped over onto its side trapping the driver inside. The driver of this rig was pronounced dead at the scene, initial reports state. The coroner has been called to the scene.There is no report how many were injured in the crashes and how many other vehicles were involved.No other information concerning the crash was available as troopers were still at the scene.
