Shanfelt allows just an unearned run in the first inning, and blanks the visitors the rest of the way. Shanfelt collects two hits at the plate, including a single in the fifth frame that chases home Bob Brown with the go-ahead run. Joe Bonner chips in with a hit for the winners, coached by John "Buck" Sweeney, while Bob Schweibinz adds a run scored.
