Historical societyThe Nesquehoning Historical Society is running a trip to the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem on Aug. 25. Tickets are $25. Each person will receive $20 in free slot play and a $5 food voucher. The bus will leave CVS at 9:45 a.m. and will return at 5 p.m. For tickets or information, contact Lois at 570-249-0364 or Deb at 570-573-2214.LansfordMusic in the ParkMusic in the Park will be held at Kennedy Park from 6-8 p.m. Sunday. The event is at the gazebo next to the Panther Valley Football Stadium. M and J Big Band from Cressona, a 20-piece brass band, will be performing Big Band tunes, patriotic music, marches, military tunes and movie and Broadway themes.The event is free but donations will be accepted and refreshments will be served. Bring a lawn chair.Music in the park is sponsored by the Lansford Alive Events Committee. All proceeds benefit the revitalization of Kennedy Park.
