August 10, 2006 - Marian Catholic senior lineman Mike Ryan verbally commits to the University of Connecticut to continue his football career. The 6-5, 305-pound Colt announces his decision a day later at the Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association Media Day. Ryan joins Lehighton's Robbie Frey and Pottsville's Gary Bardzac, who earlier had committed to the Huskies. Ryan will go on to start 32 games at UConn and earn All-Big East honors as an offensive tackle in 2010 and 2011.
