Police are seeking the public's help after an attempted abduction in West Penn Township on Tuesday.

According to officer Denna Krammes, a 13-year-old Tamaqua girl was walking alone on Dairy Road on her way to her grandparents' house at 11:40 a.m. when a black man drove up to the girl and told her to "get in."The man spoke broken English and was driving a black Honda CRV with tinted windows. The vehicle also has a bug deflector on the hood and a roof rack with a tire on the back, according to a police news release.The man is described as having short black hair and wearing a dark color shirt.Police said the car was last seen heading northbound on Route 309 toward Tamaqua.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 570-386-1100 or the Schuylkill County Communications Center, 570-668-6100.
