Carbon County officials approved a number of salary items Thursday.

But they also let three motions die because the majority of the board didn't support them. The three motions, made by William McGinley, clerk of courts, regarding the salary of the first deputy, and establishing two positions, received no second.Approved• Court Administration: Change the rate of one law clerk from $34,034 per year to $32,086.60 per year, effective Sept. 1.• District justices: Change the rate of one district justice secretary I from $11.26 per hour, to $11.59 per hour, effective Aug. 17.• District justices: Establish the position of one part-time secretary I at $11.26 per hour, effective Aug. 4 through Aug. 31.• Adult probation: Establish the position of one probation officer I, AFSCME Court Appointed Professional Union, at $15 per hour, effective Aug. 4. This position is contingent upon the county receiving funds from the Veterans Court grant.• Adult probation: Establish the position of one part-time adult probation department clerk I at $10 per hour, effective Aug. 4.
