Three Times News carriers were recognized by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association as the best in the state.

Joseph Brili and Noah Rodgers were in the top three in the youth division while Theresa Houser was in the top three in the senior division.The PNA looks at carriers from the entire state of Pennsylvania to find the best carriers to honor at a luncheon held at the Hershey Country Club.Brili has only been a carrier for three months, but has already been recognized as one of the best in the state. When Brili started his route in January, he did not expect to be recognized for his good service so quickly."I love being a carrier as it provides a satisfying walk through my town, pacing the way to a healthy life," Brili said. "My interactions with Times News customers also brightens my day."Brili's district manager Stephen Yuricheck said, "His dedication supersedes above all other carriers who were assigned. … His initiative is A-plus, he is very conscientious with a desire to excel beyond all realms of the delivery aspect."Brili finished in third place for the youth division. He won a $100 prize and two tickets to Hershey Park.Rodgers has been a carrier with the Times News for over two years and counting. He is also involved in Boy Scouts and working toward an Eagle Scout, is on student council at his high school and is a part of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science.Pat Quinn, a customer on Rodgers' route, is very happy with her service."Noah is very dependable, delivers the Times News on time in all kinds of weather and he's always smiling," Quinn says.Rodgers placed first in the youth division, winning $300 and two Hershey Park tickets.Houser has been a carrier for over 17 years for the Times News. Her route covers the Tamaqua Police Department and Tamaqua Borough Hall.Houser's son originally delivered newspapers for this route and she would fill in when needed. She took the route on full-time after her son graduated high school."I like doing it for the exercise and for the new friends my customers have become," Houser says.Eight customers on Houser's route nominated her for her exemplary service and dedication to her route."She truly is the best in all kinds of weather," says Margie Skymba, a customer on Houser's route. "I know Theresa Houser is the best person for the nomination. She is a very busy mother-grandmother and always finds time to serve us."Beverly Gottstein, the Tamaqua district manager, speaks highly of Houser."Her experience in her volunteer work shows leadership to her customers, family and friends," Gottstein says.Houser won $100 and two Hershey Park tickets after placing in third place in the senior division.
