Rush-Ryan seniors
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. held its annual picnic July 26 at St. Peter's grove in Locust Valley. Hess Catering of Schuylkill Haven provided the meal, while Gene Morrison provided the entertainment.Members brought desserts for sharing and the afternoon also included a Chinese auction.Upcoming events include: Aug. 16 trip to Dutchway family Restaurant in Myerstown; Nov. 15 visit to Sights and Sounds in Lancaster to see the production of "Samson"; Dec. 6 Christmas party at Capriotti's. The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville. The next meeting will be held Aug. 9.Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.Adult Day CareThe Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center will host a singalong with Audrey event on Monday.Other activities for this month include: Aug. 10, sunflower craft; Aug. 15, bingo; Aug. 17, Salvation Army service; Aug. 18, painting; Aug. 25, luau; Aug. 29, trip to Heisler's Dairy Bar.In addition to weekly singalongs, exercise sessions, a variety of therapies and social games, the center provides for hairstyling service, which requires advance notice.
