Drinking alcohol in public earned a Coaldale woman a trip to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville on July 28.

Borough police were dispatched to the 100 block of Ridge Street at 9:24 p.m. to investigate a suspicious person report. One was a cooler containing beer, including an open can. In the other was a purse containing Ryder's identification card and three glass smoking pipes.A small baggie containing a crystal like substance was found in one of her pockets. Ryder admitted it was methamphetamine. She was taken to the county prison on the outstanding warrant.Police have charged her with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
