How about giving people 30 days to get rid of assault weapons. After which time, if you have an assault weapon you get 30 days in jail and a fine, which repeats every time you own that weapon.In place of the weapon you get a voucher for the amount that the weapon is worth, to shop where you please.Also, stop all assault weapon sales.The weapons are for the military, not civilian use.You don't need assault weapons to hunt or for self-defense.Use your brain. It may not stop all the killing. However, it will cut the number of victims down. Your Second Amendment rights are not taken away.
