Coaldale Police cited Samuel Smolar, 26, of Ridge Cup Road, New Ringgold, after a traffic stop in June 10.
An officer on patrol stopped a gold Volkswagen GTI at 1:11 a.m. after noticing a malfunctioning rear brake light. After discovering the driver did not have a valid license, the officer had all four of the occupants get out of the car. He conducted a pat down search.One of the passengers, Smolar, had round, hard object in his rear pocket. The object was a metal tube, wrapped in electrical tape. Inside the tube was a white crystal like residue and a razor blade.Smolar had no idea how the tube came to be in his pocket, but told officers the pants were not his.He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
