Three people were taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation from a fire in Valley View Estates, Penn Forest Township.

The fire started in an oven on the lower level, according to Penn Forest Fire Company No. 2 Chief Dave Vuckovic.

He credited state police with helping residents.

Emergency crews from Carbon and Monroe counties responded. On scene were Penn Forest Fire Companies No.1 and No. 2., Polk Township and Albrightsville Volunteer Fire Company.
