What would the signers think?

As I was awakening on the Fourth of July I found myself wondering what those men who pledged their lives, treasure and sacred honor would think of their Republic today.

What would the 56 men who put their names on the line by signing the Declaration of Independence think? When did the Constitution, which is the central document of our freedoms and law, become "far right"?How long ago was constitutional law replaced by case law? Case law has been interpreted by judges and lawyers from the particular biases of the originator judge rather than the words and meaning of the Constitution. Should we give the "black robes" swords and hoods to continue to shred our once-sacred document? How long have politicians and student lawyers been taught to twist the meaning of words to suit their own biases? "What is the meaning of this?" Does any word mean anything? Frequently we have destroyed perfectly good words at the altar of political correctness. When did our governance become corrupt? When did the Democrat Party become the American Socialist Party? The answer is: far longer ago than the past eight years. Bernie Sanders has been a socialist mayor, congressman and senator for about 30 years. He has run on the Democrat ticket and always caucused with that party. Can anyone run as Democrat? In recent years only those with socialist or Marxist leanings have run.How long have we had the People's Republics of New England and the West Coast? What would the Adams boys, John Hancock and Nathan Hale think? How long have we had the Soviet states across our northern tier of states (with a few exceptions)? The governor of New York has stated there is no place for a conservative in his state - WOW! What would the signers from New York think? How long has the so-called Republican Party been collaborating with the socialists? There has been no compromise - only collaboration! How long will it be before our country becomes a menagerie of city states and tribes? Certainty the process has begun. We are segregated by gender, color, ethnicity and religious beliefs. The idea of right and wrong has gone by the wayside. We are becoming a nation filled with silent invaders and anarchists. We have no defined borders!Sorry, Ben, George, Thomas, Sam, John and James - maybe next time.Nos drovia (good luck), comrades!Walt FaganJim Thorpe
