Pokémon Go? - No

I don't know the first thing about Pokémon Go, and I'm just fine with that.

As I've seen lately, however, I may be the only one not interested in downloading the game.Last week, I was in Jim Thorpe talking to police after an attempted armed robbery and, just feet from where the incident took place, people were walking up and down the street, eyes glued to their phone. The suspect could have walked right by them and, unless he looked like a Squirtle, they wouldn't have known any better.Speaking of Squirtles, there was one in my house last week, or so I was told. I thought I felt a weird presence. On the day Chris Reber worked on the Pokémon popularity story for us, several employees got a quick tutorial on the game.I don't think Bob Ford has stopped playing it since.Over the weekend I saw videos of throngs of people heading into New York City's Central Park, apparently in search of these characters. The people I know who play the game tell me that many of the PokeStops - and don't ask me what they are but I assume it's akin to a gas station for motorists - are at churches. So now we have a lot of people in the parking lots of churches and one step closer to getting them inside. That's a step in the right direction. The rest of this craze, however, is getting slightly out of hand.In places like Chicago and New York City, you can apparently hire surrogate walkers to go chase Pokémon during the day so you can go to work and not lose your job.On Craigslist you can find advertisements for "Pokémon group safaris at $25 per person." Good luck with that.Another headline reads, "Pokémon Go creates rush for vintage games, toys, gear."I guess since I wasn't captivated by the initial Pokémon craze years ago, I don't have an appreciation for what the addicts are currently going through. There are toys from the past that I would welcome back with open arms.Do you know what vintage toy I want back? The Teddy Ruxpin my mom sold at a yard sale, probably for $2. I'd have to shell out over $100 to get him back now. Miss you, Teddy. As I long for Teddy, I'll just watch as people young and old walk about town in search of a Vaporeon or a Charizard.Congratulations if you catch one.People with high-level or rare Pokémon are selling their accounts for over $100.And people make fun of me because I like to chase a little white ball around the golf course from time to time. Now who's the crazy one?
