Police report crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers recently.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 11:36 a.m. Sunday along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said David E. Crozier, 68, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2011 Jeep Liberty northbound when traffic ahead of him came to a sudden stop.To avoid contact with another vehicle, Crozier swerved to the right crashing into a tree along the berm. A passenger with Crozier, Elizabeth Crozier, 63, same address, was taken by Lehighton ambulance to the Geisinger Medical Center, Plains Township, Luzerne County, for treatment of injuries. The Jeep had to be towed from the scene.• A three-vehicle crash was reported at 9:29 a.m. on Saturday along Route 209, at the intersection with Camelia Drive, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.Troopers said Caitlyn M. Montelius, 22, of Albrightsville, Nicole M. Formato, 22, of Brodheadsville, and Eugene Zavatsky, 69, of Clermont, Florida, were all northbound.Formato stopped for Zavatsky, who was making a left turn onto Camelia Road. Montelius did not see Formato stopping and struck the rear of Formato's 2008 Chevrolet Colbalt with her 2003 Honda CR-V pushing it into Zavatsky's 2015 Hyundai Tucson.Formato was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. The other two drivers were not injured.• Troopers investigated a one-vehicle crash on July 9 along Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.Edward A. Schwarz, 25, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2007 Honda Civic northbound, and while negotiating a left curve, he lost control on a wet roadway, troopers said.The Honda began to spin across both lanes of travel and came to final rest on top of a guide rail along the southbound lane of travel. Schwarz was not injured but the Honda had to be towed from the scene.He was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
