Two people who stole from employees at a Lehighton restaurant entered guilty pleas on Tuesday in Carbon County court before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

Randy Lee Edgar, 34, and Megan Marie Labyack, 26, both of Lehighton, admitted their part in taking two purses belonging to employees at the Subway Restaurant located at 22 Blakeslee Boulevard on Dec. 16, 2015. Labyack was an employee at the restaurant at the time.Edgar pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property and Labyack to one count of criminal conspiracy-receiving stolen property.Police said Labyack drove Edgar, who was her boyfriend at the time, to the restaurant and waited in the vehicle while he entered a back door and took two purses that belonged to employees who were working at the front of the building. Borough police responded to the scene and found Labyack in her vehicle. The purses were later found. Both admitted to their part in the theft to police. At the request of Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Ann Dyrda Hatton, Nanovic deferred sentencing so the exact amount of restitution could be determined.
