The Pennsylvania Turnpike advises motorists traveling both northbound and southbound on the Northeastern Extension (Interstate 476) in Lehigh County of possible delays overnight July 20. The delays would occur between Lehigh Valley, Exit 56, and Mahoning Valley, Exit 74, when 15-minute traffic paces are implemented in both directions between 8 p.m. and midnight.

During the paces, Turnpike maintenance and state police vehicles will restrict Turnpike traffic to a speed of 20-25 miles an hour. The paces are needed for workers to safely remove bridge beams at milepost 68.5.

Motorists in the area should be prepared for slow-moving traffic and possible stoppages. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
