Tamaqua Police are investigating a possible attempt at child abduction.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Willing St. at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious male in the vicinity.The caller said her two sons, ages 7 and 9, were in their backyard when they were approached by a white male wearing a black, flat brimmed, baseball hat. The boys said the man was walking west on Willing Street and stopped when he saw them. He told the boys "You two come with me." The boys yelled "no" and ran into their home.The suspect, who was wearing a black T-shirt and had facial hair, was last seen rapidly walking west on Willing Street.Officers conducted a search of the area but were unable to find anyone matching that description.Police are asking anyone with information, or video footage from home security systems, to contact them at 570-668-5000.
