A Lansford man was found not guilty by a jury panel this week of theft charges.

Jeremy John Accardi, 31, had been charged by Lansford police with theft by unlawful taking, theft by receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy-theft for an incident on June 3, 2015.Peter Kropf reported to police that items were taken from a storage area of his propertyin the 200 block of East Kline Avenue, and thatAccardi was involved.Copper pipe, copper and brass fittings, and other items were taken. The items were later found to be sold as scrap.Accardi was interviewed by police and said he helped Vanya Graul move from a residence on East Kline Avenue,where she was living at the time.In the process of moving he helped her carry out various items. He claimed she gave him a box containing the copper pipe and copper and brass fittings, which he admitted he sold. He said he thought the items belonged to Graul.The one-day trial was held before Judge Joseph J. Matika. Accardi was represented by attorney Matthew J. Mottola of the public defender's office. Assistant District Attorney Brian B. Gazo prosecuted the case.
