Park concert

This week's Sunday in the park concert will be by the Italian American band. The concert is held in the Palmerton Borough Park bandstand and begins at 7 p.m. The concert is sponsored by Horsehead Community Development Fund.Please bring a lawn chair. There is no smoking in the park. In case of inclement weather, the Bandstand Committee may cancel. There are no rain dates. On July 24, the concert will be by the Palmerton Community Band.Cycle clubZinc City Cycle Club located on Route 209 (1 mile south of Kresgeville) will hold Night Drags from 5-10 p.m. Saturday.Library boardThe Palmerton Area Library Board of Directors will meet at the library at 4

p.m.July 20. Meetings are open to the public.Holy Trinity newsWorship service with Holy Communion will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Morning Bible study is held Thursday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the adult education room. Morning prayer is held Wednesdays from 9-9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.A finance committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. Thursday. A council meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday.Breakfast buffetAn all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sundayat the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club, 525 Gun Club Road, Palmerton. All members and their spouses are welcome.Railroad societyThe Carbon Model Railroad Society will hold a Christmas in July Open House at 529 Ore St., Bowmanstown, on Saturday and Sunday, and July23 and 24 from 1-5 p.m. andJuly 21 from 7-9 p.m.The main HO scale display is in various stages of completion and is an excellent learning tool. The club's portable HO and N scale displays will also be in operation on the second floor along with new and pre-owned trains and accessories for sale. Admission is free; donations are welcome. During the open house please call 610-597-2925.Miller Blood DriveMiller-Keystone Blood Center will conduct its next Palmerton community blood drive from 11:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Mondayat the air-conditioned First United Church of Christ, next to Palmerton Borough Hall. College and eligible high school students are encouraged to donate. Anyone over 17 years old, weighing at least 110 pounds and who has not donated since May 22 is eligible.
