State police at Troop L, based in Reading and includes barracks at Schuylkill Haven and Frackville in Schuylkill County, has launched a new aggressive driver initiative called Operation TEAM, or Troop L Eliminating Aggressive Motorists.

The two-week initiative was June 20 to 30. During that time frame Troop L troopers wrote 732 citations and 185 warnings. Some of the citations issued were for speeding (358), following too closely (38), duty of driver in emergency response area (steer clear law) (18), traffic control signals (22), careless driving (11), turning movements and signals (64), obedience to traffic control devices (27) and seat belt violations (22).Troop L will continue to utilize Operation TEAM to keep the roads safe from aggressive drivers.
