The Lehigh Gap Nature Center and members of the Naturalists Club will host a trail-side exhibit near the D&L Trail to educate trail users about the importance of the Lehigh River and its watershed from 9 a.m. to noon weekends during July.

Trail users can get free ice water and learn facts about the watershed and how they can help maintain its health. They will also get a chance to see samples of river insects and other small creatures such as crayfish, butterflies and dragonflies. A guest creature from the center will make appearances as well.The center has been teaching about the importance of maintaining the quality of the water in the Lehigh River in its programs for years. What people do on the land - the river's watershed - impacts the quality and quantity of water in the river. With support from the William Penn Foundation, the nature center is piloting a new watershed education approach - engaging trail users with our watershed conservation message.
